Timure Character sheet

Haven't uploaded anything in a while... Here's a character sheet for a dragon named Timure. This first page is just an overview, the next few pages will have action poses and facial expressions.

New coloring technique

Been playing around with a new coloring technique, I like it for the most part, it lets me have vivid color without losing the line detail. I do think it needs some more texture though, so more lineart it is, or maybe some custom brushes.

Forest Glider

I'm going to start drawing these creatures in a more illustrative way. It gives a better idea of what they would be like and how they would live if they were real.

Based on Sugar Gliders and bats, but I wouldn't want to cross one this size.

Leave behinds- Cheshire Red

These dragons were made with the purpose of giving away, but I'm getting attached to them, saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.

Eleventh in the mini dragon set is Cheshire Red. A cat tried to eat this one.

Dragons are made out of pipe cleaners, each took about an hour and stand roughly 4 in tall, they will be holding my business cards.

Leave behinds- Cheshire Blue

Tenth in the mini dragon set is Cheshire blue. This one turned out the meanest looking of the Cheshire clan

Leave behinds- Koi

Leave behinds- Swamp

These dragons were made with the purpose of giving away, but I'm getting attached to them, saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.

Eighth in the mini dragon set is the swamp dragon. He's half crocodile, half Lochness monster, and half sea horse thing.

It took a little bit of a balancing act to get him to stand up with that tail.

Leave behinds- Cheshire Green

These dragons were made with the purpose of giving away, but I'm getting attached to them, saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.

Seventh in the mini dragon set is Cheshire Green. Halfway through the making process, he decided that he didn't need to stand on four legs, so he stands upright. Also, he turned out kinda chubby.

Leave behinds- Cheshire Brown

These dragons were made with the purpose of giving away, but I'm getting attached to them, saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.

Sixth in the mini dragon set is Cheshire Brown. I had to keep my cat from eating this one while I was trying to make it.

Leave Behinds- Kitsu

These dragons were made with the purpose of giving away, but I’m getting attached to them, saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.

Fifth in the mini dragon set is Kitsu. I’m hard pressed to call this one a mini, he’s almost as big as Chibi

Leave behinds- Serpent

These dragons were made with the purpose of giving away, but I’m getting attached to them, saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.

Fourth in the mini dragon set is Serpent. Of course he doesn’t look like Serperior from pokemon… that would be a silly idea.

Third in the mini dragon set is Pinky, Her eyes ended up being two different sizes, so she looks a little crazy...

Leave behinds- Jester

These dragons were made with the purpose of giving away, but I'm getting attached to them, saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.

Second up in the mini dragon set is Jester, His wings are made out of super fluffy jumbo pipe cleaners, they are as soft as a cats back hair.

Dragons are made out of pipe cleaners, each took about an hour and stand roughly 4 in tall, they will be holding my business cards.

Leave behinds- Lester

These dragons were made with the purpose of giving away, but I'm getting attached to them, saying goodbye is so hard sometimes.

First up in the mini dragon set is my portfolio mascot Lester, He has a moveable eyebrow so he can make expressions. Going from Left to Right, they are Sad, Angry, and my personal favorite, the people's eyebrow.

Testing new color technique

So I used a different coloring technique making this one. Usually when I color, I have several layers, a lineart layer, a base color layer and a shadow/highlight layer

This time around I rendered the whole thing in black and white first then used color and overlay blend modes. It's a very different effect then what I normally get, I'm not sure if I like it or not, I'll have to play around some more.

Website Third Draft Template and Comps

So I thought about it, my problem with the map layout was that maps aren't organized. Names follow the shape of the continents they outline. The first and second drafts didn't really go over as a map since it didn't have any funky icons or land layout. If I were to put in land, it would just be covered up by website content. Maps have no vertical or horizontal navigation (in regards to text) Also my business card is already a map.
So what is old and does have vertical and horizontal text? A scroll yay, so the third (and hopefully final) draft is based off of a scroll.
To fit the new scroll theme, I also changed the curvy tree to bamboo. It also gives me more real estate for content.

I haven't figured out what text I'm going to put on the "about me" page yet, but I have included a call to action at the bottom. Help me keep my poor cat fat and happy, he's just wasting away.

The "gallery" page functions as sort of a second home page just for my artwork. I have navigation at the bottom for whatever a person happens to be looking to see. The content at the top changes depending on what section the person is in (demo reel, animation or illustration) and they can switch between sections using the navigation at the bottom.

The "resume" page is a shortened version of my full resume. It sums up the most important stuff (skills and education) and will also include some testimonials at the bottom. If a person wants to see it, they can download or view the full PDF version. I will probably make an icon for this fitting the scroll theme, but right now just think of the icon up there as a placeholder.

The "contact me" page will have a contact form on the left side. On the right side under "stay in touch" are links to social networking sites I belong to. I've made wax seal buttons for them, right now they are facebook, blogger, deviant art, and linked in. I left room in case I need to add anymore networks.

Website Second Draft Template and Comps

The color came down between the original and purple, although the purple looked good, I felt it best to stay with the brown. It makes the text and logo stand out more and also keeps the old parchment look.
I removed demo reel from the nav bar since that will now be the first thing in the gallery, or as the splash image, or both. Might add map icons before the text on the nav bar. I'll try it out and see what it looks like.

Site Map

Everything connects back to the homepage and the other aspects of the top navigation. The gallery is broken into three sections, Illustration, Animation and Demo Reel. These three also connect to each other.

The Illustration section has two categories, Digital and Traditional which connect to each other.

The animation section has a place for 3D videos and a special section for those videos associated with my Demo Reel.

The Demo Reel section has my Demo Reel and is connected to the 3D video Full Demo Reel Clip section incase people want to see the full version of a clip in my demo reel.
